Chapter 7 Capacitors

Conductors are used in electric circuits for conducting electricity and also for storing charges and electrical energy that can be used to control electric field and hence flow of current in the circuit. It turnes out that you can increase the storage capacity of conductors by filling them with nonconductors. In this chapter we will study basics of how electric energy is stored in conductors used as capacitors. The question of charging and discharging capacitors in an electric circuit will be covered in a later chapter.
